Mozilla Firefox OS: A Revolution in the World of Smart Phones

Today smart phones take up a large share of the technology and electronic gadgets markets. The increased reliance on smart phones has made them an essential part of our everyday life. The guys at Mozilla wanted a share of this market. What they did in this respect was pretty ingenious. Instead of targeting the same crowded market that others are targeting, Mozilla focused on expanding the market to service the millions of users who don’t have smart phones because they simply can’t afford them.

The Mozilla Foundation launched Firefox OS which was aimed at making   smartphones very cheap. In fact, the phones are supposed to be cheap  enough for the millions of potential users in the developing world. The price target is currently set  to be between $20 and $25 for the smartphones.

In their design, Mozilla took into account that this operating system is going to be run on devices with low end hardware. However, that is not a problem, and the Firefox OS is actually optimised for such hardware. According to Mozilla, Firefox OS anticipates your needs, adapts to every situation and instantly delivers the information you want.It runs perfectly for  popular, big name apps, but is also optimized local content that means the most to you and your life. The phones are going to support all features that current smart phones support but they will be optimised for lower end hardware.

The Mozilla Firefox OS promises to revolutionise the perception of what a smart phone should be like in the same way that the Mozilla Firefox browser revolutionised the internet browsing experience. All we can do is wait and see.
